
KM WOODWORKING CONTINUES TO BUILD HIGH STANDARDS!!! Mr. Bruening is adapting our woodworking program to meet even more stringent requirements from Wisconsin's Department of Workforce Development's (WDWD) for their Career Technical Education Incentive Grants. The program is expanding from a saw blade certification, to the new Woodwork Career Alliance's Core Credential, which is a more advanced certification of readiness. KMMP SOLO AND ENSEMBLE RECAP!! KM Music Parents extends a hearty "Thank you!" to all who volunteered and donated items to Solo & Ensemble this past weekend. The event was a huge success and wouldn't happen without the generous support of the KM community. We'd also like to send a "shout out" to the music educators who helped everything run smoothly and prepared the students for their performances. We had over 350 MS and HS performances and 58 individuals and groups who qualified to participate at the State Solo & Ensemble event in April.


KMMS STUDENTS HOLD CONCERT FOR THREE PILLARS RESIDENTS!!! Ms. Webers orchestra students played a variety of pieces for a captive audience and everyone's day seemed to be made a little brighter by the performance. Thank you to all who attended and participated.

KMMADE SOFTBALL SHIRT SALE IS UNDERWAY!!! The girls softball team is hard at work making fan shirts for the team. Every year Casey Navarro and Namoi Sanders have helped to raise funds for the softball team with the t-shirt sale. This is a great example of students working together to learn and grow their skillsets while contributing to ONE KM!!

ROBOTICS TEAM HEADED TO STATE SATURDAY AND VISIT FROM LT. GOVERNOR!!!! The State competition will be held at Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) on Saturday March 2, 2024 from 7am to about 5:30pm at MSOE's Kern Center 1245 N Broadway, Milwaukee. Lt. Governor Sara Rodriguez stopped by to visit with team Laser Tech at KMHS. The team shared a demonstration of their robot and talked about the objectives of this year's game. They also discussed the various roles team members played in the project. Ms. Rodriguez shared her background with the students, asked about their future plans, and encouraged them to keep working hard to achieve their goals. A special thanks to Mike Brickl for the amazing photos!!





KM STUDENTS STAND OUT AT DECA STATE CONFERENCE!!! Congratulations to all of the Marketing & DECA students who competed this week at the DECA State Conference. Our team was recognized as a Gold Level chapter for community outreach and service. This year's theme has been "Experience the Difference" and KM students did just that as 14 members qualified in their competitive event areas to represent Kettle Moraine DECA and the state of Wisconsin at this year's International Conference in Anaheim California.

STRONG DECA PERFORMANCES AT STATE CAREER DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE!!!! Four of our five projects won awards in the first day of competition. We are looking forward to more students qualifying tomorrow during the grand awards session in individual and team events. We are very proud of these young professionals!






WHAT A FUN WAY TO LEARN FRACTIONS!!!! Cushing Elementary third graders organized a grade-wide pizzeria to gain a better understanding of fractions. They went all out with paper pizzas, checked tablecloths and some impressive moustaches! A great time was had by all. Thank you to everyone who helped with this activity.

CARING IS ALWAYS ON DISPLAY AT DOUSMAN!! Check out the All-School collaborative project Mrs. Lea organized to coincide with Valentine's Day and our theme of the month which is Caring. Students worked with their buddy class to make faces on their hearts. The different colors represent the different grade levels here at Dousman. The 7 1/2 foot wide x 9 foot high heart will be on display in the front hallway across from the gym entrance for the foreseeable future.

HOST A FOREIGN EXCHANGE STUDENT!!! We currently have one student who is looking to stay with an area family as part of this wonderful cultural exchange. Paola, 17, from France, is coming to KMHS in the fall and needs a host family. She loves skiing, and tennis and is good with pets. She will pay all expenses, and has medical insurance. Paola wants to know our culture and will participate in school and family activities. She speaks English and wants to practice by living among Americans.
