HELP SUPPORT KM'S INVESTMENT IN THE ARTS!!! We are currently renovating our 30 year old auditorium to address concerns over safety, comfort, and production quality. The upgrades will take place over the summer and, like our other facilities projects, there will be opportunities for sponsors to help us meet our goals and provide quality venues for our students. We are offering a wide variety of sponsorship opportunities, including a buy-a-seat campaign and founder's circle, as well as tiered sponsorships and naming rights similar to our athletics facilities. Please visit kmsd.edu/fa to learn more about these opportunities, or reach out to ericksok@kmsd.edu. These advertising/sponsorship opportunities are tax deductible and we appreciate the support of our KM Community as we commit to meeting the needs of our students for many decades to come!

KM STUDENTS NAMED NATIONAL HISTORY DAY (NHD) STATE CHAMPIONS!!! The state competition was held at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, marking the 50th anniversary of NHD. Several KM students qualified to present their thesis statements, evidence, and analysis at the national level in June, where they will compete against students from across the United States and international schools worldwide.
Emma M. and Krin B., both from HS2, created a documentary titled "The Repeal of the Fairness Doctrine: An Irreversible Turning Point in American Media." This is their third time becoming state champions and qualifying for the national competition, but it will be their first time attending the event in person in Washington, D.C., and the University of Maryland. They missed the previous in-person events due to the pandemic.
Joining Emma and Krin will be another team of young historians: Avery G. and Faye M. from Kettle Moraine Middle School. They will present their documentary, "The Rocking Turning Point to the Fall of the Berlin Wall." At the state competition, judges asked the girls about a key primary source for their conclusion. They explained the importance of accessing Stasi secret police files and interviewing German author Dietmar Schultke, an eyewitness to the fall of the Berlin Wall, via Google Meet. Schultke later visited Wisconsin, met the girls, and spoke at their school about life behind the Iron Curtain.
Approximately 500,000 students participate in NHD, with 10,000 from Wisconsin. This is an incredible honor for these girls and our district. Thank you Mr. Kadhusdal for sharing this update!
