KM's FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL IS SEPTEMBER 3RD!!! 5K, Grade 6, 9 and all students new to KM will have a partial day of school on 8/29 to get acclimated. Schedules are as follows: Elementary 8:30-11:35 am, MS 7:20 am - 1:00 pm, HS 7:20 - 10:32 am.

ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT OPPORTUNITY IN THE KM DISTRICT OFFICE!!! This year-round, part-time position is available immediately! As a student services administrative support person, your primary responsibilities would include coordinating and supporting enrollment for 4 year old kindergarten, assisting in the preparation of Department of Public Instruction reports relating to the 4K program, and collaborating with the Director of 4K programming as well as our 4K Community Partner sites. Responsibilities also include communicating with families regarding the school lunch program and assisting with applications for free/reduced lunch. Other responsibilities include assisting with data entry, communications, and other administrative tasks as a member of the Kettle Moraine District Office team. Our preferred candidate would have: An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in education, business, or a related field (or comparable work experience); the ability to communicate effectively and positively with students, parents, staff and administration using written and oral communication techniques; experience with Google Docs and Google Sheets; the ability to file and maintain materials and data efficiently; intermediate experience in Skyward/Infinite Campus preferred; the ability to maintain the privacy of families and work independently without direct supervision. NEW SUMMER ACADEMY CLASS TEACHES STUDENTS TO SEW AND EXPLORE THEIR CREATIVITY THROUGH FABRICS!! A large group of students are getting the opportunity to create their own wearable art through Sewing Basics & Yarn Arts with Mrs. McLean. The class was added to KM's Summer Academy this year and has had a fantastic response. Students have made a variety of projects including hair scrunchies, bags, blankets, scarves, and stuffed animals.





KM TRAP AND SPORTING CLAYS TEAM AT NATIONALS!!! The Kettle Moraine Trap and Sporting Clays team is in Marengo Ohio for the National Tournament. 18 students have completed two days of a 6 day tournament trying to beat schools from as far away as Alaska. Tomorrow they will start on Skeet and Doubles trap!

SUMMER ACADEMY STUDENTS SHARE THEIR FISH STORIES!!! Our fishing class for grades 3-5 with Jim Tenhover is incredibly popular. In fact, he has been teaching the class for over 15 years for KM! It's a two hour class that buses students to different local lakes and rivers around Waukesha county each day. Students learn fishing techniques and practice catch and release. These pictures are from the Dam in Delafield.







CERTIFIED BABYSITTERS ARE COMING TO YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD!!! Over 40 students became certified babysitters through Summer Academy classes designed to teach them the fundamentals of safely caring for young children. Congratulations to our newest babysitters!







KM STUDENT EARNS EAGLE SCOUT!!! Charlie Dickenson IV has earned his Eagle Scout rank at the age of 13 (among the youngest 2% among only 6% of Scouts who earn this rank). This multiyear journey is one of the most involved and transformative experiences a young person can have. During his eight year experience, Charlie has completed first aid, CPR/AED, and wilderness first aid certification. He has taken the challenging National Youth Leadership Training (pack and paddle) course and uses the techniques learned to lead his Troop; led his Troop as Chaplain’s Aide, Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, and Senior Patrol Leader. He has given over 135 hours of service. to his community. He has also developed resilience by hiking 222 miles, camping 92 nights in all conditions, and earning 46 merit badges. Charlie’s Eagle Scout service project planned, organized, and led a team to remove boulders and build much-needed stairs at the Wildlife in Need Center in Oconomowoc, allowing for safer care of injured wild animals. His goal setting and time management skills have prepared him for high school and achieving his goal of attending West Point Military Academy (class of 2032).
